* Until 200 AM EDT.
* At 1054 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain falling across the warned area. Between 2 and 3.5
inches of rain have fallen since this afternoon. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

IMPACT…Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
drainage and low lying areas.

Williamsburg, Queens Lake, College Of William And Mary, Gloucester
Point, York Terrace, Carver Gardens, Kings Point, Busch Gardens,
Grove, Jamestown, Water Country U.S.A., Williamsburg Airport, Camp
Peary, Oaktree and U.s. Naval Weapons.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 2.0 inches are possible in the
warned area.
Instruction: Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. Do not stay in areas subject to flooding when
water begins rising.
A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
