* At 1036 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain. This will cause urban and small stream flooding.
Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen since this afternoon,
with up to one inch over the past hour.
Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Williamsburg, Gloucester Courthouse, Gloucester Point, Queens
Lake, College Of William And Mary, Deltaville, Hayes, Wicomico,
Hartfield, York Terrace, Grove, Carver Gardens, Blakes, Busch
Gardens, Kings Point, Jamestown, White Marsh, Belroi, Ark and Clay
Bank.
Additional rainfall of 1.5 inches is expected over the area. This
additional rain will result in minor flooding.
Instruction: A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or
ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
