Alert: Special Weather Statement issued March 8 at 3:01PM EST by NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DC

Event: Special Weather Statement
Sender Name: NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DC
Issued: 2019-03-08T15:01:00-05:00
Expires: 2019-03-08T19:00:00-05:00
Description: Periods of snow, mixed with rain at times will affect the
Washington and Baltimore metropolitan areas through late this
afternoon before ending early this evening. For most areas,
temperatures will remain above freezing in the mid 30s, causing
snow to melt on most surfaces. This should reduce transportation
impacts for the evening commute.

However, temperatures will be closer to freezing across the far
northern and western suburbs of Washington and Baltimore this
evening as precipitation is moving out of the area. A few
slippery spots are possible across these areas. Motorists
travelling west on Interstate 66 toward the Blue Ridge Mountains,
west on 70 toward the Catoctin Mountains, or north on 83 toward
the Mason-Dixon Line should be careful for slippery spots on
untreated surfaces this evening.
