Description: The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a

* Flood Warning for Small Streams in…
Northwestern Caroline County in north central Virginia…

* Until 330 AM EDT Sunday.

* At 325 PM EDT, the runoff from the heavy rain earlier this weeek
has resulted in the Mattaponi River at Bowling Green to go above
flood stage. The stage at 3 PM Saturday was 12.2 ft. Flooding
begins at 11.0 ft.

* The main areas impacted will be low-lying areas along the river
including boat ramps and docks. At 13 ft, Paige Road about 1/2
mile west of the river begins to flood.

* Flooding will continue over mainly rural areas of northwestern
Caroline County.

Instruction: Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
